Gender Equality Plan
By adopting the Gender Equality Plan (GEP), the Centre of Administration and Operations (CAO) of the Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) publicly commits to implementing an equal opportunities program for all its employees.
The GEP has been developed in line with the gender equality policies of the EU (the Gender Equality Strategy 2020–2025) and national policies (the Gender Equality Strategy 2021–2030 of the Government of the Czech Republic, Government Council for Gender Equality, as well as the Gender Equality Support Plan of the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports for 2021–2024).
Thanks to the GEP, the CAO of the CAS is obligated to take concrete steps and implement measures and policies that advance gender equality. This includes internal changes in the organization to ensure gender balance among employees, in leadership roles, and in decision-making, gender balance in HR processes, work–life balance measures, and policies addressing gender-based violence, including sexual harassment.
An Action Plan is included in the Gender Equality Plan that outlines procedures for implementing the GEP, sets a timeline, and defines measures aimed at eliminating potential gender-based discrimination and inequality, while raising the awareness of employees about gender issues.
The GEP was prepared by the Gender Committee of the CAO (CAS) in cooperation with the HR Department of the CAO (CAS) and subsequently reviewed and approved by the organization’s management. The GEP also takes into account the funding conditions of the Horizon Europe grant program, in which the Centre of Administration and Operations participates.
