Do you need to find a preschool for your child?

The Czech Academy of Sciences (CAS) is committed to helping its highly qualified (research) staff stay connected with their professional development even after welcoming a child in their family, while also facilitating a quicker return to work. At present, the Centre of Administration and Operations (CAO) of the CAS runs six daycare groups with a total capacity of 68 children at three locations in Prague: the CAS headquarters on Národní Street and the CAS institute campuses in Krč and in Ládví. Outside of Prague, CAS employees can access subsidized childcare in Brno.

These daycare centers support parents in returning to work after parental leave and by helping them achieve a better work-life balance. Caregivers provide the childcare in the children’s groups. Each center implements a daycare program based on the Education and Childcare Plan.

Lvíček and Viola

The Lvíček Children’s Group has a capacity of 10 spots and Viola has 6 spots. We accept children from 18 months of age and up.

Operating hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

The fee is a flat rate based on the plan selected with a maximum charge of 4,000 CZK for children under 3 years old and 5,500 CZK for children over 3 years old for full-time attendance (5 days a week).

Národní 1011/7, Praha 1 – the Viola building

Pluto, Ohm, and Dioda

The Pluto Children’s Group has a capacity of 10 spots, Ohm has 6 spots, and Dioda has 12 spots. We accept children from 18 months of age and up.

Operating hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

The fee is a flat rate based on the plan selected with a maximum charge of 4,000 CZK for children under 3 years old and 5,500 CZK for children over 3 years old for full-time attendance (5 days a week).

Molekula

The Molekula Children’s Group has a capacity of 24 spots. We accept children from 18 months of age and up.

Operating hours: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday.

The fee is a flat rate based on the plan selected with a maximum charge of 4,000 CZK for children under 3 years old and 5,500 CZK for children over 3 years old for full-time attendance (5 days a week).

Childcare in Brno

For children of CAS employees working in Brno, we provide subsidized places in the Malý princ (Little Prince) childcare group. The total number of subsidized spots is 14.

Operating hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday.

The fee is a flat rate based on the plan selected with a maximum charge of 4,000 CZK for children under 3 years old and 5,500 CZK for children over 3 years old for full-time attendance (5 days a week).
